The Freedom We Receive in Christ

Jesus has offered us freedom. Freedom from striving, trying desperately to win God’s approval. And Freedom from judgement. From the judgement of others, from the judgement of God because Jesus has taken our punishment upon Himself. And He has also freed us from the need for us to judge others. Only God can judge, so we do not have the right to pass judgements on others. We can become so focused on the hard sayings of Jesus that we miss the incredible compassion and mercy he showed to the weakest and most vulnerable of his flock. To people who fail, turn away, or sit on the fence because they are too afraid to jump in or are not yet fully convinced, Jesus continues to offer his extravagant mercy, a healing hand and another chance.
